Redding hosts six middle schools, 46 elementary schools, six charter schools, and 30 private schools. The high school district boasts an exceptionally high graduation rate and also partners with six of the region’s colleges and universities to offer students guaranteed enrollment. Redding is home to Shasta College, Simpson University, National University and offers a number of certification and trade programs in the areas of manufacturing, medical and other STEM fields.
Innovation
Launched in 2015, through a collaboration of economic development groups, Redding became home to a startup incubator for tech and STEM companies. The incubator will house 40 various startups and offer resources, opportunities for collaboration, and funding opportunities that young, innovative companies need to establish themselves and grow.
